Palace home form must improve for us to survive, says Allardyce
Crystal Palace’s home form needs to drastically improve if they are to stay in the Premier League, according to manager Sam Allardyce.
Palace slumped to another Premier League defeat on Saturday, losing 1-0 to Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.
Allardyce’s men are 19th, having picked up just four points from eight matches under the former England manager’s tenure since he took over from Alan Pardew in December.
However, Allardyce has famously never been relegated from the top flight as a manager, and he has identified improving the Eagles’ woeful home form as a base for the south Londoners staying in the division.

“The atmosphere at Selhurst Park is not bad,” he said. “Since I have been at the club, [the fans] have been very patient and have been trying to help the players.
“Away from home, we have got a better record, but at home we haven’t got a very good record at home at all.
“It is results at home that is going to keep us up and the home results have to change.
“Away results are a bonus, but results at home should be the mainstay, and particularly for getting out of trouble at the moment.
“They [home results] are the reason we are where we are.”
