Squad spirit and performance was fantastic, says Hull boss Silva
Marco Silva has praised the spirit of his Hull City players as they continue their battle to avoid the Premier League drop.
Goals from debutant Alfred N’Diaye and Oumar Niasse gave the Tigers victory over an out-of-sorts Liverpool on Saturday, their fourth home win on the spin in all competitions.
Hull are still in the relegation zone, but their prospects of survival have received a welcome shot in the arm in the shape of the Portuguese manager.
But Silva was quick to praise the effort of his players as they dealt another severe blow to Liverpool’s chances of challenging for the league title.

“Of course I am happy with our performance,” Silva said. “We got a very important win and take three points. It’s fantastic for us.
“Our squad again showed a fantastic attitude, fantastic spirit and very good organisation. It’s important we keep this organisation and this focus.
“For me it’s not important which player scores or what players give contributions. I always want our squad to play as a team. This is the most important thing.
“We keep our organisation and focus and play as a team. But of course some moments it’s the players that came in in January (that produced), other moments it’s our ‘keeper … It’s important for me we always play as a team.”
