Time for us to be positive, says Palace’s McArthur
Crystal Palace are not even entertaining the idea of relegation, according to midfielder James McArthur.
The Eagles are 19th in the Premier League with 19 points from 25 matches, and face a crucial six-pointer at home to Middlesbrough next Saturday.
They are currently on a run of eight defeats in ten league games, winning just twice since September.
Their latest defeat was a 1-0 loss against Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.
Despite the Eagles’ lowly league position and woeful form, McArthur insists the players believe in each other and will drag themselves out of the relegation mire.

“It’s time to turn it around, it’s about being positive. We probably didn’t create as much as would want to [against Stoke] but everyone is in a better place now,” said McArthur.
“We lost but in the changing room we’re all looking at each other and thinking we’re going to do this, we’re going to do whatever it takes to stay up.
“Obviously we’re not in a great position. But if we beat Middlesbrough in two weeks we’ll go joint with them, so everyone has got more belief now.
“We’re working even harder in training, trying to do the right things. We had that meeting after the Sunderland game and that cleared up a lot for the players.”
