Versatile Pugh happy with Cherries role
Marc Pugh found himself in an unusual position on Saturday at wing-back but despite Bournemouth’s crushing loss to Everton, he insists he is happy to fill in wherever Eddie Howe needs him.
The Cherries found themselves three goals down by half-time, and despite fighting back with two quick goals, they eventually crumbled as Romelu Lukaku netted four times.
While defence at Bournemouth is becoming a real concern, Pugh was not worried about his own shift of position.
He said: “I just enjoy playing football, wherever I play on the field. I want to try and keep my shirt and I feel I’ve done everything I can, worked hard and was good on the ball.
“It’s disappointing; you can’t really speak too much about your own performance when you’re on the back of a 6-3 defeat. I was just chuffed to be out there.”

Next up will be a clash with big-spending Manchester City and Pugh admits they will have to step it up and show real desire if they are going to get back on track.
“We need to show the team spirit that we know we’ve got. We’ve got a massive game coming up and Manchester City are not going to be easy, they have great quality in their team,” he added.
“We’ve shown against teams like Liverpool and Arsenal this season that we’re no pushovers.”
