Wenger claims there is always something wrong at Arsenal

Arsenal’s underfire manager Arsene Wenger has insisted there is always something wrong at the football club when they are not winning 100 per cent of the time.

The Gunners 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League earlier this week has brought fresh criticism of Wenger who has been Arsenal manager for two decades.

Wenger believes that any loss shows there is room for improvement and will expect a response when his side face Sutton United in the FA Cup on Monday.

After their defeat in Europe, the FA Cup may offer Wenger his best chance of silverware this season with his side ten points off leaders Chelsea in the Premier League.

Both Manchester clubs, Chelsea and Spurs are all in the FA Cup fifth round action this weekend and will all be among the favourites for the competition.

“As long as you do not win absolutely everything there is always something wrong and you have to accept that because you want always to go to the next level,” Wenger said.

“On the other hand, in the last 20 years in Europe only three clubs have managed to play every year in the Champions League and that is Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid and nobody else.

“That means if everything is not perfect, not all is wrong.”
