Winks reveals link to former Tottenham star

During midfielder Scott Parker’s two seasons at Tottenham Hotspur young academy prospect Harry Winks studied his game intently.

Three-and-a-half years on from Parker’s departure from White Hart Lane to Fulham, and Winks has broken into the Spurs’ first team, featuring in 17 of the 25 Premier League games so far.

Yet the 21-year-old believes he still has plenty to learn and has revealed he still contacts Parker regularly for pearls of wisdom.

“Scott is a great player and a top, top person off the field as well,” said Winks.

“Since he left the club, he’s always told me I can stay in touch with him and get advice from him here and there and every time he pops into the training ground, or if I drop him a text, he’s always there to give me some advice.

“He was brilliant when he came to Tottenham and his career, even before he was here, speaks for itself.

“He’s a player who was welcomed by the Spurs fans, he had a very good time here and he’s a top quality player anyway, so if I can take any little bits from his game then I’ll be delighted.”
