Davies and Everton setting their sights high for run-in

Everton midfielder Tom Davies insists the Toffees can go even higher this season with a strong finish to their Premier League campaign.

After Saturday’s victory over Hull City lifted Everton temporarily into the top six – Manchester United then won on Sunday to drop them back to seventh.

But Arsenal’s defeat at West Brom means the gap to the top six is closing all the time for the in-form Toffees, who have only lost once at home all season.

And with five of the current top six still to play this campaign, Davies is confident the best is still to come for Ronald Koeman’s side.

“We are keeping an eye on who is above us as well as watching who is below us,” Davies said.

“The more results we get, the higher we can go.

“(This weekend) is another good one as Arsenal have slipped up, so it was a good day for us.

“It’s been a great few results which we’ve had. Hopefully we can keep that going. It was important to get the win before the international break so we can go into our next games on a high.

“We are going really well and the international break has come at a bad time for us. I’m sure we’ll get back together after it and we’ll try to carry on.”
