Drinkwater insists Leicester City are not safe yet

Leicester City may have won back-to-back Premier League games against Liverpool and Hull but midfielder Danny Drinkwater knows they’re far from safety.

The reigning Premier League champions slipped into the relegation zone before consecutive 3-1 victories moved the Foxes five points clear of the bottom three.

Leicester don’t have a game this weekend having exited the FA Cup and took the longer than usual break to complete some warm weather training in Dubai.

And Drinkwater insisted there would be no complacency from the side having moved themselves away from immediate danger.

Drinkwater said: “As long as we finish where we need to – and want to – come the end of the season then the start and middle of the season will be forgotten.

“We aren’t safe yet. We have won two games, it is not done.

“We are football players and it is our job. When we win games, we like it and the more the better. Individuals use what they want and if it helps the team then all the better.

“We know the next game will be more important than the last. We will keep pushing on and making sure we are doing what we are doing in the week to prepare ourselves for the game.
