Everton unstoppable at Goodison Park, says Mirallas
Midfielder Kevin Mirallas admits Everton feel invincible on home soil at the moment, after the Toffees picked up their fifth straight Premier League victory at Goodison Park over the weekend.
Ronald Koeman’s charges swept aside West Brom to win 3-0 on Saturday, with Mirallas himself, Morgan Schneiderlin and Romelu Lukaku all on target in the victory.
The result means Everton are certain to beat their points tally from last term having reached 47 – last year’s total – already with ten games still remaining in the Premier League.
In their last five league games at the Goodison, Everton have scored an astonishing 18 goals and kept four clean sheets – including a 4-0 rout of Manchester City – and Mirallas believes the side’s high level in front of their own fans is no coincidence.
“At the moment, we are on fire at Goodison,” said Mirallas. “It is very important because the fans are always behind us.
“I am very happy because we won and that is the most important thing.
“It was also nice to score because I feel like, normally, my goals come away from home.
“We’ve opened the gap from West Brom to seven points, which is good and now we need to follow it up with a win against Hull next week because after the international break we have two away games against Liverpool and Manchester United.”
