Le Tissier thrilled at Redmond’s Southampton form
Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier has praised the form of winger Nathan Redmond, who has become increasingly influential during his first season with the Saints.
Redmond moved to the St Mary’s Stadium last summer from Norwich City, following their relegation from the Premier League, and the 23-year-old has scored six goals so far in the campaign.
His total includes one in the first leg of Southampton’s EFL Cup semi-final victory over Liverpool and two in their most recent outing – their 4-3 win at Watford.
Redmond also gave a lively display in the Saints’ EFL Cup final loss against Manchester United last month and there has been talk the former England Under-21 international could be in line for his first senior call-up.
Le Tissier said: “Nathan’s form the last few games has been outstanding.

“He was probably one of those in the first part of the season who was probably a little disappointed in some of the positions he was getting into and not finishing.
“But it now seems like he’s found his shooting boots a little bit and is looking dangerous in front of goal, which is great.”
Southampton’s recent form as a whole has also impressed Le Tissier, with the signing of striker Manolo Gabbiadini bringing a new dimension to their attack.
“It’s been a bit of a change from the first half of the season,” Le Tisser added. “It’s great to see us scoring goals.”
