Mostyn confident Dubai trip for Cherries will pay off

Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn is confident the Cherries’ warm weather training in Dubai will pay dividends for the Premier League run in.

Back to back wins before the international break launched Eddie Howe’s side up to 11th in the Premier League and arrested a worrying decline.

Now with nine games to go, the Cherries can concentrate on finishing strongly and Mostyn has been impressed by the work ethic of the squad during the break.

“It’s been a huge success. The whole rationale behind the trip was for it to be a bonding exercise for the boys to spend quality time together and for Eddie and coaching team to spend time talking about in particular the last three results, which have been hugely motivational,” he said.

“We’re hoping that the effort that they put into the training, and a bit of relaxation they’ve had out here, will do them the world of good for the run in.

“It’s incredibly impressive, when you see them up close and personnel it’s as if they’re playing a competitive game.

“There’s a lot of effort, a lot of commitment and there’s that huge desire to win, whether it’s a Premier League game or just a mere training session.”
