United star Rashford: I am a better player this season
Marcus Rashford believes his continual drive to improve himself is already paying off, saying he is a much better player than when he burst onto the scene spectacularly a year ago.
The Manchester United striker turned heads with four goals in his first two starts last season, in a remarkable debut campaign which culminated in him going to the European Championships with England.
This season, Rashford has found gametime hard to come by – often playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford.
But the 19-year-old is adamant that he has added to his game under Jose Mourinho and is keen to push on and show United fans he can become the player many tipped him to be.
“I’m a completely different player now compared to where I was this time last season,” Rashford said.
“All my focus is just on trying to improve for the future and to make history for my club and the country.
“I am quite hard on myself, but people around me are always pushing me. I think it is needed if you want to be the best.
“People don’t always look at that. They look at the results but they don’t look at what you do to get the results.
“When it all comes together people will start to realise.”
