Wenger: Gunners still eyeing Chelsea despite gap
Arsenal may be 16 points adrift of Premier League leaders Chelsea but boss Arsene Wenger is still focused on closing that gap.
Arsenal’s previous league fixture resulted in a 3-1 defeat at Liverpool on March 4, but they face West Brom this weekend.
The Gunners are currently fifth in the table, and while the Baggies are never an easy proposition, Wenger has his eyes firmly fixed on the league-leading Blues.

He said: “It’s true that it is tough because West Brom is traditionally always a very difficult game.
“But as well it’s an opportunity for us to come back to the position that is much closer to Chelsea.”
Wenger has been impressed by West Brom so far this term and acknowledges his side will have to deal with their potent set-piece threat to find success this weekend.
Albion have scored 48 per cent of their goals from set-pieces this season and Wenger is well-aware of the challenges they will pose.
He added: “They have big experience, they are well-organised, physically very strong and very efficient on set-pieces, I think they’re the team who have scored more goals than anybody else on set-pieces.
“This season they’ve done very well in midfield. They have played very well, and up front they have Hal Robson-Kanu and Salomon Rondon who have done very well for them as well.
“It’s a very balanced team with a good size who are equipped to deal with the Premier League.”
