Carragher urges Spurs to concentrate on FA Cup
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has warned Tottenham Hotspur they must win their FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea and then go on to lift the trophy as they are too good a side, in his eyes, not to win silverware.
Spurs’ won their last major trophy in 2008 when they lifted the League Cup but they have had a barren nine years since and Carragher has urged the north London outfit to concentrate all their efforts on the cup rather than the league – where they are rapidly closing in on leaders Chelsea, with the gap now down to four points.
Carragher won seven major trophies with the Reds, including two FA Cup titles in 2001 and 2006, and believes it would be disastrous for Spurs if their squad of players does not win major honours soon.

“We are thinking about the league but if I’m in Tottenham’s shoes, this week is all about the FA Cup and the chance for this team to get a trophy,” said Carragher.
“This team is too good not to win things. We have watched them for two or three years and we love watching them. We want to see them do well.
“They’ve got young English players and for the manager, it would be a travesty in two or three years’ time if this team haven’t won something. They have to go and win that FA Cup.”
