Hat-trick ambition rumbles on for Tottenham Hotspur star Son

Tottenham Hotspur ace Son Heung-Min admits he is desperate to get a Premier League hat-trick under his belt.

The 24-year-old hit two goals in Spurs’ 4-0 triumph over Watford on Saturday afternoon and has accomplished the feat of bagging a brace three times in the league since arriving at White Hart Lane from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015 for £22 million.

But, despite helping himself to a three-goal haul in his side’s FA Cup quarter-final win over Millwall in February, a Premier League hat-trick has so far eluded the South Korean.

Son was withdrawn by manager Mauricio Pochettino in the 88th minute as Spurs thrashed the Hornets and the forward is currently practicing as much patience as possible.

“He just said: ‘keep it for the next game’ because I had two great chances after scoring two goals and when I talk about it, I’m still sad,” said Son.

“I just want to score a hat-trick in the Premier League. Maybe it will happen next week – I just have to be ready.

“Of course I’m very happy though because it was a good win, an important three points, and we deserved it.

“Everyone can see that we help each other, we run for each other, and we’re all hungry.

“We just want to keep going. We want to show our hunger and passion for the fans and for ourselves.”
