Huth credits training change for Leicester’s upturn in form
Much has been made of Leicester City’s transformation under new manager Craig Shakespeare, with defender Robert Huth crediting a higher intensity in training.
City are on a run of five Premier League wins in a row but it took the sacking of title-winning boss Claudio Ranieri to spark a return to last season’s spectacular form.
Shakespeare has led the Foxes to wins over Liverpool, Hull City, West Ham, Stoke and Sunderland in the league and takes his squad to Everton this weekend.
And Huth believes improvements on the training ground have transferred themselves into better performances on the field.
“We’ve had a bit of luck obviously but we’ve had a better work-rate and we’ve put in the extra yard. With that, we’ve always got a good chance of scoring and keeping clean sheets,” he said.

“We needed to play better and be more energetic and that’s one of the first things that Craig [Shakespeare] did when he came over.
“He upped the tempo in training and made it really intense and competitive. That’s transferred itself to the weekends and you can see that. It’s helped us win those games.
“It’s going to be a tough game no doubt. Both teams are in good form so it’ll be good to see who’s in the best form on the day.”
