Imbula hints that Stoke stay could be nearing an end
Giannelli Imbula has hinted that he could move away from Stoke City after this Premier League season following a lack of game time.
The midfielder arrived at the Potters in February 2016 for a club record £18.3million, and helped Stoke finish ninth last term.
However, after a stuttering start to the season for Mark Hughes’ side this campaign, Imbula found himself dropped and he has made just nine starts so far.
And the 24-year-old admits that a discussion is needed once the dust has settled.
“Sure, yes, I have responsibility for this situation,” he said. “At one point, I certainly did not do what the coach wanted.
“But I’m not the only one [to blame]. They also have their share of responsibility. Things do not go as planned when I arrived.
“I work hard in training. I do not waver mentally. I am ready to give everything. After that, I do not get the opportunity to play for some reason I do not know.
“We’ll see at the end of the year. I will not dwell on this situation because I do not like it at all.
“We’ll see how it’s going to happen, we’ll talk.”
