We’re not safe yet despite Liverpool win, says Palace skipper Puncheon
Crystal Palace skipper Jason Puncheon says the Eagles are not resting on their laurels just yet, despite moving seven points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.
Palace have won six of the last eight league games, including a tremendous 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, a result which has lifted them up to 12th.
They are seven points clear of Swansea City in 18th, with a game in hand, and face high-flying Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening.
However, despite a turnaround in fortunes, Puncheon insists the players and management will not rest until the south Londoners are mathematically safe from the drop.

“It’s been brilliant and I have loved every minute of it, but for me, the most important thing is for us to stay up,” he said.
“We have edged a bit closer towards that and taken a bit of pressure off of ourselves for Wednesday [against Tottenham].
“It’s not over, we still have a lot to play for and we want to finish as high up as we can.
“First of all, it is about getting mathematically safe to make sure we are in the Premier League and then try and finish as high as we can after that.”
