Robertson praises Silva for Hull’s half-time rollicking
A half-time tongue-lashing came the way of Hull City during their victory over West Ham on Saturday, and defender Andrew Robertson insists it was nothing less than the team deserved.
The Tigers trailed 1-0 at the interval at the KCOM Stadium, with head coach Marco Silva having a few choice words with his players in order to provoke a reaction.
That undoubtedly led to a Hull improvement in the second half as Robertson himself levelled up before a late winner from Andrea Ranocchia, securing a vital three points in the process.
That strike was also Robertson’s first in the Premier League, leaving the full-back full of praise for the way Silva influenced a second win in three.
“We were poor in the first half and the manager gave us a deserved rollicking at half-time,” said Robertson.

“He changed things and Curtis Davies was the unfortunate one who made way for the change in formation. We were much better in the second half with Grosicki and Markovic causing West Ham problems on the wings.
“My first Premier League goal has been a long time coming and it was good to see the ball hit the net, but I’m just glad that it was a goal that got us back into the game before the big man at the back popped up with a winner.
“Our home form has been good since the manager came in and we need to keep it that way. Our away form has been disappointing and we know that we need to pick up points on the road as well, but for now we must prepare for another big home game on Wednesday night.”
