Shakespeare: Leicester targetting maximum points from remaining Premier League ties
Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare has challenged his players to take maximum points from each of their six remaining Premier League games, insisting the team have what it takes to do just that.
The Foxes currently sit 15th in the league table, six points clear of the relegation places with fixtures against Arsenal, Manchester City and Spurs still to come.
Wednesday’s trip to the Emirates is the first of a string of difficult clashes, but Shakespeare insists his side are coming in well rested after an eight-day break following their Champions League draw with Atletico Madrid.
But despite several games in hand over the teams sitting around them in the Premier League table, Shakespeare insists his men can’t take anything for granted.

“The focus is on trying to get as many points from now until the end of the season,” he said.
“We know what’s at stake but to be fair to them, they’re very focused as a group.
“I’m not sure how many points it’s going to take [to stay up] and the weekend proved that.
“Teams are capable of winning games and putting points on the board so we have to make sure we look after our own club.
“I know it’s the old cliché but we have to take each game as it comes. We have to make sure we’re ready for each challenge.
“Arsenal is next and then after that we move onto West Brom. Before you know it, the games creep up on you so we have to be ready for it.”
