Yaya: City can still catch high-flying Spurs
A top-four finish won’t be enough for Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, who still hasn’t given up on reeling in second-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the final few weeks of the season.
City manager Pep Guardiola conceded his side’s title challenge was over after a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea two weeks ago, but they have responded well with victories over Hull City and Southampton.
It has allowed them to maintain their four-point advantage over fifth-placed Manchester United, although Toure is focusing on the teams directly above them – Liverpool and Spurs – rather than what lies below.
“Top four? We want to be top three or top two,” Toure said. “What we are doing now is try to get three points and focus on ourselves.”

City could still end Guardiola’s first season in charge with silverware and they have an FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal at Wembley coming up on Sunday.
They’ll go into the game as favourites, due to the Gunners’ poor recent form, and Toure, who scored City’s winner in the 2011 final against Stoke, is looking forward to the clash.
He said: “It’s going to be a massive game. We know Arsenal have been in trouble before the international break, but after that they created us a lot of problems.
“I think it’s going to be a great game for the public and the fans and people who watch this game. I’ve been in this club for seven years, and we have always been in this situation.”
