Fuchs: Foxes determined to end on a high

Now that Leicester have reached the mythical 40-point mark that all but guarantees Premier League safety, you might expect them to take their foot off the gas.

But defender Christian Fuchs is adamant they won’t let up as they chase a top-half finish.

The Foxes have often struggled in their first campaign since the fairytale title win 12 months ago, but a 1-0 win over West Brom last weekend took them to 40 points exactly and raised them to 11th in the table.

They are now only four points behind the eighth-placed Baggies with four games remaining, as they look to end the season on a high.

And Fuchs insists the club are finally peering up the table rather than over their shoulder.

“Obviously, we are happy to have reached that target [40 points] and West Brom was also our second away win of the season against a side that is not easy to play against,” said Fuchs.

“Forty points is good but we have four more games to play and we want to collect more points with three home games to come. We want to finish the season on a high.

“Just look at us, we have three home games and just one away game (Manchester City), which is a nice ground to play at, and we want to get as many points as possible.

“We want to finish the season strongly and finish the campaign on a high.”
