I’m finding my feet in Premier League, says Bournemouth midfielder Cook
Lewis Cook says he is feeling at home in the Premier League after impressing in Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw with Stoke City on Saturday.
The young midfielder arrived at the Vitality Stadium in a £7 million deal from Leeds United last summer, but has had to bide his time to get regular first-team football.
He played in the opening day defeat to Manchester United, but spent months without featuring for the first team afterwards, three of them through injury.
However, the 20-year-old has returned to the side and was one of the bright spots in a display that sealed Bournemouth’s place as a top-flight club for a third successive season.
“You want to string together as many games as you can and I feel like I’m doing alright,” said Cook.
“It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League, so whatever happens for me I will take it. It has been tough but I have really enjoyed it.
“There is a lot of passion in the games. It is physically very hard and there is a lot of running to do. Mentally, you always have to be thinking about where you need to be on the pitch.
“I felt like I got on the ball and trusted in my ability against Stoke. It was great to take stuff I have learned in training onto the pitch.”
