Lookman keen to push on after mixed Everton start

Ademola Lookman burst onto the Premier League scene with a debut goal to remember against Manchester City, but the Everton forward insists he has plenty more to do next season at Goodison Park.

That goal in the 4-0 hammering was the 19-year-old’s only strike in Toffees colours last term, making seven more appearances having signed from League One Charlton in the January transfer window.

All but one of those was to come from the bench in what was a stop-start end to the campaign for Lookman after his £10m transfer tag.

Now the teenager is looking to use the highs and lows to push him on both on and off the pitch having adjusted to life on Merseyside since his switch from London.

“It’s been great but I can do more, I can do better,” Lookman said. “There are things that I can still improve on, which I’m focusing on.

“It was an incredible feeling to score against Manchester City. I can’t really describe it. I need to kick on from that now and move forward.

“It’s good to have moments like that, but I want to have 100 more moments like that in my career. That’s what I’m trying to do.

“It’s a whole different city [Liverpool compared to London] but I think I’m adapting well. I enjoy playing every single day.”
