Mangala looking to convince City boss Pep
Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala is going to do everything in his power to convince Pep Guardiola that he can solve the Citizens’ defensive woes.
However the France international admits that the likelihood is he will be heading elsewhere this summer with Guardiola expected to clean house following a disappointing season.
Mangala spent the season on-loan in La Liga with Valencia, but is not expected to be kept on at the Mestalla next term.
He has been linked to a move to Turkey and a possible switch to Besiktas, but it remains to be seen how much City can recoup on the 26-year-old.
However Mangala, whose contract runs through to 2019, explained that he learned a lot from spending last summer training with Guardiola and is hoping to win him over on City’s summer tour this July.
Mangala said: “This is a coach who has his own ideas.
“I was fortunate to receive his wisdom for a month and I can tell you that I progressed, especially tactically, in just a month with him after two years at City.
“I want to believe that I can convince him, but today I am in the market and there will be offers in the summer.”
