Mirallas excited for Everton’s European adventure

Winger Kevin Mirallas believes there is nothing better than European nights at Goodison Park and is counting down the days until Everton begin their European adventure in the Europa League.

Mirallas was part of the Everton side who plied their trade in Europe two seasons ago; the Toffees enjoyed memorable wins at home in the competition, beating Wolfsburg 4-1, Lille 3-0, Young Boys Bern 3-1 and Dynamo Kyiv 2-1.

Mirallas was in sparkling form during Everton’s last European campaign as they reached the last 16, scoring three goals.

And despite losing to Arsenal on the final day of the season at the Emirates; the Toffees secured seventh spot in the Premier League and with it a Europa League ticket for next season.

Ronald Koeman’s side are set to enter at the qualifying stage which begins in late July – meaning Mirallas and co won’t get much of a summer break.

“Two years ago we played in the Europa League and the atmosphere at Goodison was amazing,” Mirallas said.

“It’s been the best feeling for me here and I hope next season is the same.”

Mirallas committed his long-term future to Everton earlier this month by signing a new contract and now he has his eyes firmly set on a successful summer with his national team.

Mirallas continued: “After the season ends, I will go to the national team.

“We have two games – one friendly (v Czech Republic), one World Cup qualification match (v Estonia). It’s very important for the country and me as well.

“Next season is very important for the Club but I know that if I play well then I will have a chance of going to the World Cup. That’s my ambition.”
