Rangel: Swansea won’t struggle under Clement next season
Swansea defender Angel Rangel does not believe the club will be involved in another relegation scrap next season.
The Swans have been in a relegation battle for the last two years but new manager Paul Clement is set to have his first pre-season at the club since taking over at the turn of the year.
Clement will hope to see Swansea perform as they did in the second half of last season for the whole of the next one in order to climb the table.
And Rangel – who has been part of the Swansea squad since they were in League One – believes they will improve and push on next season.
He said: “It was a tough season – in my ten years at the club I would say it has been the most difficult.
“In the last couple of seasons we have had some harder times but we have always pulled through.
“This year it was really, really close. It has been really hard, really stressful. But since January I think we have had a fantastic five or six months. We have done really well during that period.
“A lot of people said we were down at Christmas – all the experts said that. But I think we have shown that Swansea City can be a Premier League club for a long time.”
