Rose: Spurs must add depth to the squad to help with injuries
Tottenham defender Danny Rose wants the club to invest this summer and add depth to their squad.
Rose has not played since January due to a knee problem – but the rest of the Spurs squad have remained relatively injury free.
But Rose knows that Mauricio Pochettino’s squad may not be the case in future seasons.
He said: “We could have a better squad in terms of depth.
“Thankfully Dele [Alli] doesn’t really get any injuries but just imagine if that happened or someone like Christian [Eriksen] got injured.”
Alli and Eriksen provided a collective of 34 goals and 25 assists for the Premier League runners-up in all competitions, during a season where they made 50 and 48 club appearances respectively.
However, with plans and aspirations to move Tottenham to the next level and secure their first silverware since 2008, Pochettino’s side must be strengthened over the summer in order to have the ability to counteract a serious injury problem.
Spurs will play next season in their temporary home of Wembley and their form at the national stadium this season in the Champions League and Europa League was far from the sort of form that saw them finish second in the Premier League.
