Schneiderlin: ‘Working with old boss Koeman at Everton has rejuvenated me’

Morgan Schneiderlin believes Ronald Koeman is the right manager to revitalise his career.

The French midfielder suffered a crisis of confidence during a frustrating 18 months at Manchester United, where he made just 32 appearances and scored one goal.

But since reuniting with Koeman, whom he worked under during his seven years at Southampton, at Everton, the 27-year old is loving his football again.

He was an ever-present during the closing stages of the season, helping the Toffees secure Europa League football in the process.

“I’ve felt very good about this football club ever since I arrived,” he said.

“I’m very happy to be here, very happy to come in every day and happy.

“I’ve got joy in my football again, playing regularly and playing in good games.

“I know myself that I can be even better and improve. That’s what I’m going to try to do next season – have no little injuries and play every game.

“That’s my main focus and I want to improve and help this team to be in the top four.”

Meanwhile, Toffees’ boss Koeman was spotted enjoying the Monte Carlo Grand Prix this weekend while Mason Holgate was at Bramall Lane to watch Kell Brook defend his IBF welterweight title against Errol Spence Jr.

Goalkeeper Joel Robles even flew out to Barcelona to watch Spanish pop star Melendi.
