We’ll only bring in the right players, says West Brom boss Pulis
Tony Pulis may have guided West Bromwich Albion to a top-half finish in the Premier League, but the Baggies boss admitted his side must strengthen in the summer if they are to progress next season.
Albion finished tenth in the league, despite losing seven of their last eight games of the campaign, including a final day reverse at the hands of Paul Clement’s Swansea on Sunday.
However, while pledging to fans that new faces will arrive at the Hawthorns in the summer, Pulis has insisted he will only spend money in the right way to bolster his Albion ranks.
“I think it’s going to cost more money every year to improve – that’s the way it is,” said the Baggies boss
“But you have to get the right players. It’s not just about bringing players in and spending money. You have to spend the money in the right way and they have to be the right characters and the right players.
“The important thing is they have to be players who are going to be in your starting eleven, and that moves everything forward.
“We’ve done that over the last couple of years and if we can do that again this summer, it will improve us again.”
