Cook wants another consistent season for Cherries
Defender Steve Cook was an ever-present for Bournemouth last season and he’s hoping to do the same again for foreseeable future for the Cherries.
The central defender was one of only five players to play every single minute of the Premier League’s 38-game season with Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta and Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson the only other outfield players.
Goalkeeping pair Fraser Forster of Southampton and the Baggies’ Ben Foster also completed 90 minutes in every league game last year.
Cook’s performances helped Bournemouth secure a ninth-placed finish in the Premier League and he wants more of the same when the season resumes in August.
“I went into the season and I wanted to play more games than last year and I managed to do that,” he said.
“Now I have set my standards higher and I want to continue to do that for many years to come.
“I managed to stay injury free and have been able to be selected, I think that’s the most important thing for me.
“The manager picked me week in, week out. I’m just really pleased that I put myself in the position to be available.”
