Morgan expects busy summer for Leicester recruitment
Captain Wes Morgan is expecting Leicester City to be busy in the transfer market, with plenty of new players coming in.
Reports have concentrated on the impending departure of Riyad Mahrez so far this summer and, if he does depart, the Foxes will be keen to maximise the money they receive.
And while Leicester are yet to confirm whether or not Craig Shakespeare will be staying on as manager, Morgan is expecting City to bolster their squad.
“I think we need to invest and recruit in the majority of positions,” he said.
“Towards the end of last season we saw a few injuries impact our results because we maybe didn’t have the same strength and depth as other teams.
“I think if you look at the average age of our back four we’re all above 30 now, so we’re not getting any younger.
“I’m sure that will be an area our recruitment staff will be looking at. I’ll be watching with interest to see who comes in. I’m sure it’s going to be a busy summer.
“Upfront, Vardy is our main outlet, he suits our style of play, but there’s a lot on his shoulders and if he got injured we need someone to take his place.”
