Eagles not safe yet, says Benteke
Striker Christian Benteke believes Crystal Palace can’t afford to take anything for granted as they continue to try and ensure their survival in the Premier League.
With five wins in their last seven games, the Eagles are actually one of the form teams in the division and this has enabled them to open up a seven-point gap between them and the relegation zone.
But with a tough run-in, including a home clash with title-chasing Tottenham Hotspur next Wednesday, the hard work isn’t over yet for Sam Allardyce’s side, something that Belgium international Benteke appreciates.
He said: “Every game is going to be tough because so many other teams have points to play for and want to win, we will fight until the end as we have shown in recent weeks and that will continue.”

Benteke’s header against Leicester City with 20 minutes left completed a spirited comeback from Palace last Saturday, as they rescued a 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park having earlier been 2-0 down.
“If we can’t win we know that we need to make sure we don’t lose, in this game I think we deserved more and even though as the game went on we pushed we couldn’t get the third goal,” added Benteke.
“We knew what to expect from Leicester, but it’s a match that I finished with mixed feelings as I do believe we should have got more from the game.”
