Ulloa pride as Foxes magical run comes to an end

Leonardo Ulloa insists Leicester should be proud of their Champions League run, even if it came to an end this week at the hands of Atletico Madrid.

The Foxes were the last English team standing in the competition after making it to the quarter-finals, but went down 2-1 to the Spanish side, who have now made the final quartet in three of the last four seasons.

For Leicester it marks something of a final curtain to a dream 18 months in which they won the Premier League title before going on an unlikely European run.

But Ulloa believes they can take huge pride from getting as far as they did, even if the focus now must be on finishing the Premier League season on a high.

“It wasn’t enough but I think we are happy for the fans and for the dressing room because we gave everything and we enjoyed the competition,” said Ulloa, who has scored just one goal this season.

“They’re a very good team and they work so hard. We are happy because in the second half we pushed them. It wasn’t enough but I think the performance was good.

“Now we have to stay focused and think about the Premier League only.”
