Plenty of positive despite Spurs defeat, says Palace’s McArthur
James McArthur insists Crystal Palace have plenty to be proud of despite falling to defeat on Wednesday night against Tottenham Hotspur.
Christian Eriksen’s stunning late strike was the difference between the sides, after Sam Allardyce’s Eagles had valiantly kept out free-scoring Spurs for the best part of 80 minutes.
The defeat left Palace 12th on 38 points, seven clear of the relegation zone.
Scottish international McArthur was restored to the Palace midfield after missing out in recent weeks, and wants the Eagles to kick on and finish as high as possible.

“It was gutting for us all to lose after all we put into the game but we go again as we have another tough game coming up on Saturday against Burnley and now have a couple of days to try and prepare for that one,” he said.
“We defended very well as a team but they put us under a lot of pressure, we did limit them to chances outside the box and they scored with one of those, a very good strike.
“It was nice to be back, that feeling of playing again is very nice and I need to just try and get myself back in the side again.
“We still need to pick up points and try and finish as high as we possibly can.”
