Hornets stung by own mistakes
Watford only have themselves to blame for throwing away three points against Chelsea according to boss Walter Mazzarri, after the Blues came from behind to win at Vicarage Road.
The Hornets led 1-0 heading into the last ten minutes thanks to Etienne Capoue, before goals from Michy Batshuayi and Diego Costa turned the game on its head.
The first goal was particularly frustrating for Mazzarri as Heurelho Gomes spilled Eden Hazard’s shot at the feet of Batshuayi, and the big money Belgian signing tapped home his first goal for the Blues.
But even Costa’s second, as he got on the end of sub Cesc Fabregas’ through-ball, could have been avoided according to the Italian.
He said: “As we say in Italy we complicated our lives by ourselves. Both the goals, as you can see, were our mistakes. We were not focused on both of those plays.
“We have to improve in playing the ball better and keep it better especially because in those occasions we had the opportunity to play in a simple way.
“Like I said before, unfortunately I would have preferred to concede two goals by great play from these great players instead of through our own mistakes.”

While there was frustration at the defeat for Mazzarri, who is still looking for his first Premier League win, he insists the team had improved from their draw away at Southampton the previous week.
He added: “I’m very disappointed. At the moment what counts is we have grown as a team and improved a lot compared to last week.
“We were unlucky especially because in the first half we could have scored at least a couple of goals but we didn’t. Now the important thing is I’m very happy with the way we played.”
