Pulis wants more signings at West Brom

It looks set to be a busy few days at The Hawthorns with West Brom boss Tony Pulis hoping to bring in a few fresh faces before the transfer window closes.

West Brom have made just a single signing this summer, Matt Phillips arriving from QPR, leaving them with just 19 senior professionals following released and sold players.

Pulis’ men take on Northampton Town in the EFL Cup on Tuesday with the West Brom manager unable to rest too many of Saturday’s starting XI from their 2-1 defeat to Everton.

“We’ve got ten days to bring in some players so we’ll see what happens,” he said.

“Like I say we’ve got ten days to do some work and hopefully we’ll be able to do it.

“The important thing is they dust themselves down and go again. We’ve got a big game at Northampton on Tuesday night.

“I won’t be making a lot of changes because we don’t have a lot of changes to make.”

The contrast between Pulis’ struggles and Everton’s bench which included Romelu Lukaku, Yannick Bolasie and Ashley Williams was not lost on the West Brom manager.

“You’ve got to recognise with Everton, and they are going to spend more by the sound of things, they have a team, or are close to a team, which they think will finish in the top six,” he added.

“There’s a difference, but you’ve got to make that up somehow.”
