I feel great in Crystal Palace team, says striker Benteke
Crystal Palace marksman Christian Benteke has vowed to keep up his hot streak in front of goal as the Premier League season enters its final weeks.
Benteke has netted five times in his last seven games, helping to drag the Eagles away from the relegation zone.
Sam Allardyce’s men face a trip to Manchester City on Saturday as they look to put further daylight between themselves and the bottom three.
And Belgian international Benteke, Palace’s top scorer this season after signing for £27 million from Liverpool in August, wants to continue his fine form in a team he believes is suited to his strengths.
“I feel really good in this team,” he said. “We are playing really well and I’ve been getting the chance to score more often and now I want to keep it up.
“I have to give credit to the lads. I can be confident in front of goal, but if they don’t perform then it’s going to be tough, so we are all in very good shape.
“I started the season okay and then I had a period where it was a little bit tough, but I don’t know of any player who performs well from the first game of the season to the last.
“Now I’m in a good way to finish well.”
