No sticky start for new Toffee Bolasie
Yannick Bolasie is already making an impact at Everton according to goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg after he made his debut against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.
The Congolese winger became the first person in the history of English football to play the first and second games of the top flight season against the same team after facing the Baggies for Crystal Palace on the opening day before the move to Goodison Park.
And he came off the bench in the 2-1 victory over West Brom, and Dutch keeper Stekelenburg has been impressed.
He explained: “We saw already this week in training that he (Bolasie) is a strong guy and a funny character as well.
“It’s nice also for a goalkeeper to have him on the right side where I can play the ball to as well.”

After opening their season with a draw against Tottenham, Everton got their first win on the road at the Hawthorns, and Stekelenburg was pleased with the defensive discipline of his side.
“It’s a very difficult place to come to. They put the ball in the box so it’s difficult but it’s an important win.
“When we changed the system to put four at the back it went a lot better, we got more grip on the game and second half we played well. We couldn’t keep the ball very long and it was a good decision from the manager to change it.
“In the second half I had an important save when it was 1-1 and we won the game so I’m happy with that.
“Before the last ten minutes we could have killed the game with Ross (Barkley), who had a big chance, and also (Romelu) Lukaku, which would have made it easier for the defenders, but in the end we held on.
“It’s going very well, I’m enjoying the club, and the people around the club.”
