Tigers boss Silva calls for calm
Hull City boss Marco Silva has told his squad to remain calm ahead of their relegation showdown against Crystal Palace this Sunday.
The Tigers head to Selhurst Park knowing they must get a result after slumping to a surprise home loss against already-relegated Sunderland.
Hull sit one point behind 17th-placed Swansea and four behind the Eagles, meaning only a win would keep their hopes of finishing above Sam Allardyce’s men alive.
A defeat in south London and a victory for the Swans over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light would relegate the Tigers after just one season back in the top-flight.
With matches facing huge implications for both sides, Silva has urged his team to stay calm under pressure and stick together after last week’s disappointing defeat.
He said: “When we win, we win all together.
“When we lose, we lose all together. We didn’t play well [against Sunderland]. I saw a good attitude in our players and good commitment, the same level. They did their best, but they didn’t play well.
“We have to be calm. The first thing we need to be [against Palace] is calm. You cannot play well if you are not.
“Even when you don’t play well, it’s important that we keep our focus. We didn’t achieve what we wanted [against Sunderland] but we have two more games. We will fight until the end.”
