Reid confident Hammers will learn from London Stadium blip
The London Stadium has been far from a happy home for West Ham so far, but Winston Reid is confident his side can learn their lessons for the next campaign.
The Hammers were humbled 4-0 by Liverpool on Sunday, their 17th defeat in a fall-from-grace Premier League season having reached the Europa League last year.
But, with some believing the change of form is down to their switch from Upton Park, Reid is still upbeat that seasons like this are to be the exception rather than the rule.
“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster this season but towards the back end we really started to pick up,” he said.
“It obviously hasn’t gone how we hoped but we’ll move on to next season and hopefully next year at home we’ll pick up some better results.
“I thought we started alright (against Liverpool) and we had a couple of chances. But at the end of the day we lost as a team.
“The last few weeks we’ve been doing well as well. But we’ll move on to next season and learn from this season, especially at home.
“It’s just one of these things. We tried our best and went out there to try and put on a performance. But sometimes you have days like that and unfortunately we’ve had a few of them this season.”
