Blinds calls on Manchester United to steady the ship
Daley Blind believes Manchester United must revitalise their momentum ahead of the Europa League final.
United have salvaged a route into the Champions League by securing a showdown with Ajax at the Friends Arena in Stockholm on Wednesday, May 24, in the final of Europe’s second-tier competition.
However, with manager Jose Mourinho shuffling his pack with a view to keeping his key players in the finest fettle possible for the Europa League showpiece, the Red Devils have suffered back-to-back defeats at Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Blind will be rested when United to go Southampton in their penultimate Premier League fixture of the season on Wednesday night and the utility man thinks his side must arrest their form ahead of their date with destiny.
“There are two games to play and we want to finish on a good feeling,” said Blind, whose team also host Crystal Palace on Sunday, May 21.
“Now we have to focus on the next game and it’s nice that the games are so quick together so we can focus on the next one.
“Everybody knows the importance of the games, and we will be ready as a team.
“You want to go into the final with the best feeling you can.
“So for the last two [league] games, it’s important to play a good match and win, and get the best possible feeling.”
