Koeman prepared for busy summer transfer window
Ronald Koeman says Everton have already identified the areas in which they need to strengthen this summer, and know which players they’d like to sign.
Everton travel to top-four chasing Arsenal on Sunday for the final game of the season, and will finish seventh in the league as they cannot now catch Manchester United in sixth.
The Toffees manager said that meetings with the board have been going on for a while and that plans are in place for the summer transfer window.
“We had several meetings and we know what we want,” said Koeman.
“We are two to three months into getting a picture of what we need and where we need to improve, let’s hope we do good business.
“I am the manager, and the board like to support the manager, we have the same picture in what we want to improve.”
Everton have the potential demands of Europa League football next season and Koeman was clear to point out that the competition is of huge importance to the club.
“That’s a new experience for most of the players. We need to play two qualification rounds to qualify for the group stage and that starts three-and-a-half weeks into our pre-season,” added Koeman.
“Let’s wait to see what we can do but we will take it really seriously because we want to play in Europe and it’s important for the club.”
