Zaha wants Palace to target the top half
Winger Wilfried Zaha believes Crystal Palace have the quality to challenge for a top half finish next season despite the departure of Sam Allardyce.
The former England manager departed Selhurst Park after guiding the Eagles to Premier League safety but is now taking a break from football management.
That hasn’t stopped 24-year-old Zaha from signing a new five-year deal with Palace, after a season which saw him score nine goals for the club, and he’s targeting a top half finish.
“I feel we can easily be a top 10 team with some additions to an already-strong squad,” he said.
“Once again, it’s about having that belief, we have finished in 10th before and we can do it again.
“The club has come a long way in our time in the Premier League but it takes time, and we just need to keep building but that can be done.
“The squad showed a lot of belief in themselves to make sure that we would remain a Premier League club.
“We know that the lads have the quality but we needed to realise we were capable of getting the results and played to a structure which meant we had that belief that we could get the results.”
