Wimmer ready to leave Tottenham Hotspur – if the price is right
Kevin Wimmer could be on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur after a season in which he has hardly featured.
Since arriving from FC Cologne for a reported £4.3 million, the Austrian centre back has made less than 30 appearances for the White Hart Lane club.
He initially looked a solid deputy for Jan Vertonghen but has found his chances extremely limited as he battles with Toby Alderweireld and England international Eric Dier.
And things didn’t get any better last November when he scored an own goal against Arsenal in the process of trying to clear a Mezut Ozil free-kick.
However, one sticking point could be Spurs’ valuation on the defender, whose contact extends to 2021, with Daniel Levy looking to make a big return on the money he invested.
That would help the club fund their extensive summer shopping list, with Monaco winger Thomas Lemar among their targets.
The 21-year old – who has already broken into the French national team – has shone for the Ligue 1 champions but Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of his attacking style.
However, Arsenal and Manchester City are both also tracking the player, who is valued at £25 million by his club
