Jack-of-all-trades Galloway wants to be master of one
Brendan Galloway is capable of playing across the back four but the new West Bromwich Albion signing insists his focus is on establishing himself at left-back for the Baggies.
The 20-year-old arrived at the Hawthorns on a season-long loan from Everton, where he made 16 league appearances last season.
Tony Pulis has seen his summer recruitment hampered by questions over the club’s ownership, but Galloway joins Matt Phillips in potentially being able to make an immediate impact on the first team.
And the Zimbabwean-born youngster is desperate to show Pulis that he should be first choice at left-back, making his debut in Tuesday’s EFL Cup defeat to Northampton Town.

“I’m a left-back who tries to get forward and back as much as possible during the game, getting one-v-one defending and really trying to block out wingers during the match,” said Galloway, who lasted 70 minutes against the Cobblers before coming off with cramp.
“Also, clean sheets are really important to me.
“I work my hardest for the team, which is important.
“I can play along the backline, centre-back and left-back, so I’m quite versatile but you always want to have one position and make that yours throughout the season.
“The most important thing is to get on the pitch, get the shirt on and work hard for the team.
“Playing in the Premier League last season was really good and an experience that I really enjoyed, that’s what I want to aim for.
“Every boy’s dream is to play in the Premier League and so to have this opportunity again is a massive thing for me.”
