United’s Rashford and Lingard visit injured Ariana Grande fans
United youngsters Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard took time out from their international duties to visit Ariana Grande fans injured in the recent terrorist attack at her gig.
The Manchester United players, both of whom are local and products of the famed United youth system, spent time at Manchester Children’s Hospital speaking to those injured in the bomb blast.
Both players could feature for England at the weekend, but spent time with the victims handing out signed United shirts and posing for pictures.
Their visit came after the ‘One Love Manchester’ concert and both Manchester clubs joined together to donate £1million to the Manchester Emergency Fund.
Rashford posted several pictures of his visit on Instagram and paid tribute to the city they call home.
“I was honoured to be a part of the One Love Manchester charity concert. It’s great to see a number of faces show up to show their love and support as we are a city united,” he said. “Everybody came together and made it a night to remember.”
While Lingard also posted on social media.
“It was good spending the day on the children’s ward with some of the children injured during the recent events in Manchester #onelovemanchester,” he said.
