Moses targets promised land with starting role
According to the old adage you don’t change a winning team but Victor Moses is confident he can do enough to convince Antonio Conte that he deserves a place in Chelsea’s starting line-up.
Nigerian international Moses has come off the bench in both of Chelsea’s Premier League wins so far this season, before opening his account for the season in the EFL Cup victory over Bristol Rovers.
After three seasons on loan at Liverpool, Stoke and then West Ham, Moses appears to be in new boss Conte’s plans, and he’s adamant that if he gets the opportunity to start he can shine at Stamford Bridge.
“In pre-season I’ve always done well, it’s just about getting the chance,” he said.
“The manager knows the ability I’ve got and I want to pay him back by working hard for the team and making sure I do the right things on the pitch. I’m here and I’m happy and I want to keep on enjoying my football.
“I’ve always believed in the ability and talent I’ve got. There’s still a lot to come from me for the club. I’m pleased to be playing this season. I just want to keep working hard for the team and hope we can win as many games as we can.”

With two wins from as many games in the league so far this season, Chelsea will take on a Burnley side who upset Liverpool last time out.
But the winger believes that Chelsea’s collective spirit can carry them to a fourth successive win in all competitions.
“There are no easy games in the league. It’s 11 v 11 so it will be a hard game for us but the most important thing is to work hard together as a team,” he added.
“We’ve won three in a row, we’ve got quality players who can win us games, collectively and individually, and we’ll keep growing together.”
