Begovic eager to see Terry join him at Bournemouth
New Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic admits he would relish the opportunity to play alongside John Terry again if his former captain was to follow him to the south coast.
Begovic switched from Chelsea to the Cherries earlier this month in search of regular first-team football, after a two-year spell at Stamford Bridge.
His former Blues teammate Terry is currently assessing his options after ending a 22-year association with Chelsea, with reported interest from Stoke, West Brom and Aston Villa in sealing his signature.
Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth were heavily linked with the defender during the January transfer window, and 29-year-old Begovic insists Terry would be welcomed to the Vitality Stadium with open arms.
“If he fancies Bournemouth, it would be great to have him there,” said Begovic.
“He’s a great player and a great guy as well, so from that point of view it would be really, really good.
“He’s obviously the best defender ever in the Premier League. He’s a legend at Chelsea and he deserves the right to make the right decision for himself and his family.
“I hope he does whatever is right for him and he’s happy with the decision, and I wish him all the best for the future.”
