Schneiderlin promising more for Everton fans after stellar opening season
Morgan Schneiderlin has assured Everton fans that he has plenty more to offer next season, despite delivering an impressive debut campaign at Goodison Park.
The midfielder may have only featured 14 times for the Toffees in the Premier League, but a run of just two defeats in that time showed just how important he has become to the Merseysiders.
That form wasn’t deemed good enough to make the France squad this summer however, missing out on facing England in this week’s friendly.
But the former Manchester United and Southampton man believes that could end up being a blessing in disguise, keen to kick on having helped Everton to the Europa League in Ronald Koeman’s first year in charge.
“I want to have a great pre-season, push myself to the limit and push this football club back to the top,” said the 27-year-old.
“I know myself and I know there’s more to come from me. I’m happy with my performances but I know I can push myself even more to be the best as possible.
“In all my career, every season I have wanted to improve, wanted to get better than the season before and to be the best I can. I’m 27 now but I’m not going to stop. I just want to improve every day.
“I’m going to have a break because in three years I’ve had something like three weeks holiday.
“Now is a bit of time for my body to relax and be ready for a big pre-season.”
